Sunny but so cold today and the wind still blowing
The French amateur player Kenny LE SAGER wins the Final Stage of the Alps Tour Qualifying School by 6 shots!
He is followed by Craig Williams (Wal) and Alan Bihan (Fra) who finish +11.
A total of 38 players gained their card for the 2008 season, including 6 amateurs.

Congratulations to the warriors !
Hell is near! The wind blew all day on two courses with gusts of 70km/hour. In the morning, gusts reached force 10 (information from the Captain of the port)… Extremely difficult conditions, lines putt became almost unreadable, they could lost their mind!
Tonight, a French amateur is leading after 36 holes, Kenny Le Sager by 2 shots. Frenchman, Alan Bihan is second, Cedric Judlin (Fra) and Jorge Garcia (Esp) are third.
Cut is 161 (+18): 68 players are qualified for the Final Round tomorrow in Cap d’Agde GC.
Weather forecast is windy again for tomorrow with gusts of 50 to 60 km/hour...

Gusty winds again (70Km/hour)! And temperature is colder than yesterday... So, it's very difficult for players to returned good scores.




Qualifying School - Final Stage - DAY 1

First day of the Final Stage of Alps Tour Qualifying School. On both courses, players suffered a lot today due to gusty wind, balls were oscillated on greens and some of them returned high scores. They arrived exhausted at the recording area.
144 players started this morning, representing 15 different countries!
In St Thomas, 3 players share the lead in the Par: Manel Perez Moya (Esp), Julien Xanthopoulos (Fra) and Nicola Maestroni (Ita).
In Cap d’Agde, 3 players share also the lead one over the Par: Petr Skopovy (Cze), Alan Bihan (Fra) and Jann Schmid (Swi).
Tomorrow, players will split between the two courses. At the end of the second, we will keep 65 players and ties for the last round in Cap d’Agde.

All Players must confirm their participation through a tournament office, either in Béziers or in Cap d'Agde, before Monday 12th November, 18:00 hrs. This registration is compulsory.

SO WINDY DAY !
Wind was so strong today (90km/h)and players suffered a lot!
76 players qualified for the Final Stage: first 26 players in Nimes Vacquerolles, first 26 in Massane and first 24 in Fontcaude.
The best scores are in Massane: the Spanish player Carlos Garcia Simarro finished 5 under the par and leads by 11 strokes. Second and third players are amateurs.
In Fontcaude, winner is the Frenchman Alexis Weizman (+1)followed by another compatriot and an Austrian amateur.
In Nimes Vacquerolles, Michael Lowe (England) keeps the leadership by 7 shots. 3 Latin guys follow.

Spanish players leave a few spots to other nationalities.

In Nimes Vacquerolles, the English man Michael Lowe takes the lead (+1) by 2 shots front of two Spanish players Luis Portela and Marcos Juan.

In Fontcaude, Jeremy Belliard (France) signed a card of 69 for a total of 140 (-4) and leads by 4 shots. Behin him, a Spanish player Juan Antonio Bragulat (Par) and another French man, Alexis Weizman (+1).

In Massane, Spain keeps the leadership with the best score of the day signed by Carlos Garcia Simarro who finishes 6 under the par. He is followed by Xabi Laduche (Fra) at -1 and Claudio Blaesi (Swi) at +3. Just behind one Austrian amateur, Rene Gruber (+4).

VIVA ESPANA!
Sunny day with a few wind for the first day in Languedoc. Spanish players take the leadership of the Stage 1 of the School over the three venues: Carlos Garcia - 68 (Massane), Jose Manuel Mancebo y Ivan Irazusta - 71 (Fontcaude) and Luis Portela - 72 (Vacquerolles). Only one French player managed to share the lead at Fontcaude, Jeremy Belliard.
After 54 holes, a total of 76 players will be qualified for the Final Stage (26 spots in Massane and Nimes Vacquerolles, 24 spots in Fontcaude)

The Languedoc Roussillon County and Golf Clubs of Nimes Vacquerolles, Massane and Fontcaude welcome us again this year for the Qualifying School. Weather forecast is sun and wind for the week.
135 players (45 on each course) will try to qualify for the Final Stage next week in Cap d'Agde and Saint Thomas.
