The Frenchman Lionel ALEXANDRE won the 5th edition of the Maroc Telecom Trophy after one playoff hole against Jerome FORESTIER (birdie against par). Forestier signed the best day score (67) with a very good final (birdie on Hole No 17 and eagle on Hole No 18 to go in play off). Alexandre scored 70 today with two bogeys on Holes 17 and 18 and an eagle on the last hole to go in play off too.
Sabi returned a good card today (-3) and finished best Moroccan player at the 11th place.
Lionel ALEXANDRE (-7) takes the leading of the tournament by one shot front of the Spanish player, Agus DOMINGO who scored 66 today (best score of the day) and by two shots front of Julien Grillon and Roland Steiner. Two Moroccan players made the cut, Younes El Hassani and Abdelhaq SABI.
Cut is fixed at 147 (+1) and 42 players will start tomorrow from 8.40 am.
Today, we began the day under heavy rain and we used roller squeegees on several greens. And we finished with the dark for the last shot… The Frenchman Jeremy KIRKLAND takes the leadership by one shot and returned a scorecard of 68 (-5). Jean-Nicolas Billot (Fra) ranked at the 8th place realized a hole-in-one on the Hole No 9 with a 5-iron.
First Moroccan player is Abdelhaq SABI (70 -3) ranked 8th.
Tomorrow night, we will qualify the first 40 pros and ties.
Under heavy showers, players are trying to recognize the mythic Red Course of the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat. Tomorrow, weather forecast is better. Several Challenge Tour players join us this week and will allow the young Alps Tour players to compete together.
